Thottappally, Alappuzha KERALA
This small village is slightly away from Alappuzha town. But still this village manages to attract visitors. The primary reason is the presence of Thottappally Spillway. This spillway connects Alappuzha and Thiruvanthapuram on the National Highway 47. This spillway divides Thottappally lake into two section, with the eastern part having fresh water and the western part has the rivermouth merging with Arabian Sea.
This village is also said to be one of the famous fishing harbours in Alappuzha. Hence, you can visit the harbour to see how the fishing is done. The best time to visit the harbour is during early evening hours to watch the mesmerising sunset.
